have i caught hiv from turkey

hi i had sex about 4 weeks ago with a 24 year old turkish man i have been for a hiv test and still waiting for the results. what are my chances of me having this? is it common in turkey? im so worried

It's hard to say "what your chances are", basically a risk is a risk, so testing is the way to go.  I'm sure that overall, your risk isn't as high as YOU think it is.  I have no idea what the prevalence of HIV is in Turkey, maybe Teak does.

Keep your mind off of it...and test at 6-8 weeks, then again at 12 weeks.  If you are neg at 6-8 weeks, your test result is VERY unlikely to change.

Also, are you using birth control, if not...you should be testing for pregnancy, not to mention an STD panel, where all of the STD's will be tested for.

a test at 6-8 weeks will give you a good indication of your status...and unlikely to change at that point...but only a test at 3 months will give you a conclusive test result.

thanks, im so stupid. i am going to be worrying for the next 3 months now. how likely do you think it is that i have caught it. i am only nineteen.

If you had unprotected anal or vaginal sex then you can get your conclusive test 3 months post exposure. Next time use a condom.
