Wondering......paranoid perhaps?

4 years ago had unprotected sex, I have never had any symptoms following and none since....such as what I read as rashes, night sweats, unexplained fevers, diarrhea, swollen glands.
My question is though that this can live so many years in your body before showing up, but wouldn't you have some type problems in this length of time?

HIV does not live in your body so many years and not show up.

thank you soooooo much for answering me....my med mind gets the best of me sometimes but just couln't make myself get another test.. every time I get sick I think is that a symptom.  Think part of this is because 1) guilt 2) knew better 3) know it would be reported to the state health dept then family would know then whole town so I would have to leave home or die.....I learned my lesson but when I would read that it sometimes will be years before symptoms would show up I kept thinking maybe it just hasn't shown yet and begin the worrying all over again

You can leave out the drama. I live in a small town that is under 2800 people, was a paramedic and firefighter and everyones knows of my situation. You're making it out to be something bigger than it is.

Am sorry, I didn't mean to "bring out the drama".  That was inexcusable of me I guess so excuse me.  I feel for those that have any condition of health for I work in the health field, I was only making the statement of how my family would react if I was in that situation.  I am glad others have family, friend, etc for support.  With our patients it is I that gives support and a hug so was not relating what I was feeling towards or lessening what others are going thru.
