People change drugs because drugs not agreeing with them. But never stop PEP drugs without talking to your doctor. Keep taking them.
He can give you other drugs and safely get you off the current ones if you are having any problems.
PEP is very effective. A 2 year Mass. study showed 100% success.
But there is a case of a nurse who stopped for just 2 days -- the abstract didn't say why -- she tested negative at 4 weeks, which is a great sign, but tested positive at 6 weeks.
Do whatever you can to help you stick it out.

A DUO test after 28 days on PEP is not considered sufficient, but performed as part of the protocol. So you should do it. PEP can change the production of p24 antigens and may also change the production of antibodies. Thus it can effect the normal interpretation of a conclusive result.
Some doctors will do a NAAT or PCR at 14 days in order to monitor.
You will have to wait 3 months and do an HIV test (preferable 4th gen test) for conclusive result (norm in US.)
But you can do a DUO 1 month after stopping PEP also. It should be highly indicative. But follow your doctor's guidelines.
As far as PEP drugs, they can be changed; but you have to work with your doctor.

28 days after PEP with a DUO test
i completed 28 days of PEP course and i tested for HIV DNA 2 days after PEP, result was negative and tested for p24 Antigen and Antibody(CMIA method) 9 days after completion of PEP, results were negative, negative.
How reliable above two test were?
My Doctor advised me to "Forget about the incident", does it mean i am completely safe?
This is something you have to discuss with your doctor, we cannot advise you.
