The CD4 count. Being HIV positive with a CD4 less than 200 or a very low CD4 with an OI.
Hi guys,
1st Teak Wikipedia is a great encyclopedia for medicine and other things and most of it is right...when they mention HIV or sexual diseases they always say 'can be a casue' but doesn't have to.
2nd aak001 AIDS is the disease, HIV is the virus
example: parasites (virus/bacteria/fungi) can cause diarrehea which can lead to giardiasis (disease).
3rd Aliens exist and maybe some weired scientists comes up with the idea that we were once aliens...just like darwin and the apes (though i belive taht one a bit).
Thanks and take care all,
FWK
what is the defrence between being hiv+ and diagnosed with AIDS?
i dot understand what do you mean Teak. sorry if i made you angry its just because youwere very helpfull to me yesterday and the information you gave helped me in my studies. anyway thank very much for all the help and soory again if i made you angry;)
i wish all the best .
Then OI's are not a concern to you.
i was never diagnosed with ADIS? i am a student in university and conducting a study on STD's.
When you are diagnosed with AIDS.
sorry i did not want to start a new post. i would like to ask about opportunistic infection and when do they usally happen.
While we're on the subject of things such as Diabetes in this topic....maybe teak would know....can't a lot of autoimmune type problems such as Diabetes show a lot of the same symptoms that HIV possibly could?
thank Teak for the information i am not thinking of symptoms but this question was asked alot and i never found an answer to it.
No, thick saliva is not a symptom of HIV. Forget about symptoms.
Teak the question is not if saliva is infectious or not. you have told us 1000000 times before that is not the question is thick saliva is it a symptom becuase this guy is the third or fourth guy to ask the question. i tried to find an answer on the net i coulndt.
there have been soooooooooooooo many ppl come to this site claiming white or furry tongue. i cannot remember any that actually had it when they saw their doctor or dentist.
How long have you been here aak001? Saliva is not infectious.
sorry i also got this information from wikipidia ;) what about thik saliva we had a guy also ask about it last week i think?
thank you Teak for the information this will really help me. would you mind if i asked a couple more questions in the future?
http://www.medicinenet.com/sjogrens_syndrome/article.htm
Wikipidia information is put there by every kind of worry wart there is. I believe that there is a disclaimer that the infomation posted there has not been check for truthfulness.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:General_disclaimer
can you please give me a repayable source for this type on information because i relay a lot Wikipidia and their seem to be many false information in it as you have just proved to me. it also gives a time line for ARS saying that in the 3rd week you get the rash and then in the 6th week you get the abdominal problem and that wieght loss is alos a first sign of hiv? i guess this ia also nopt true?
What causes Sjogren's syndrome?
While the exact cause of Sjogren's syndrome is not known, there is growing scientific support for genetic (inherited) factors. The illness is sometimes found in other family members. It is also found more commonly in families that have members with other autoimmune illnesses, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, autoimmune thyroid disease, juvenile diabetes, etc. 90% of patients with Sjogren's syndrome are female.
Wikipidia? Get real. You keep looking there and you find that you were born to Aliens.
i just cheacked it at wikipidia and it says that hiv can cause it.
Sjögren's ("SHOW-grins") syndrome is a chronic disease in which white blood cells attack the moisture-producing glands. The hallmark symptoms are dry eyes and dry mouth, but it is a systemic disease, affecting many organs and may cause fatigue. It is one of the most prevalent autoimmune disorders, striking as many as four million Americans.
Has nothing to do with HIV.
i have never heared of it.
i found it Sjögren's syndrome
