HIV transmission oral route with throat infection

Last weekend I gave a blow job to a man. He cummed in my mouth. I am extremely concerned that I have been infected with HIV this way. His HIV status is unknown to me (he is from Thailand).

I know blowjobs are basically a low risk activity. The thing is, what worries me so much is that I had a sore throat when I gave him a blowjob...just a cold with a sensitive, irritated throat. Am I correct in understanding that HIV can be transmitted through the oral route though if there is a throat infection like the one I had?

Blow jobs aren't 'low' risk. They are no risk. No one in the history has ever gotten HIV this way, not a single proven case. Air and saliva inactivate the virus. The only risks for getting HIV are to have unprotected vaginal or anal sex or to share IV drug needles to inject drugs. You will NOT get HIV by giving or getting a blow job. Your sore throat is inconsequential to this.
