Multiple Lancet Pricks HIV

Hi Team,

I m diagnosed with pre diebetes. Doctor asked me to verify fasting sugar daily. My friend has diebetes and has Accu check insta device. We have tested fasting sugar daily. We have shared lancets immediately. We have tested sugar today also. Now I m worrying about hiv.

Should I go for PEP?
Do I need to go for testing.

That's not a risk for HIV. The only risks for HIV are to have unprotected vaginal or anal sex or to share IV needles to INJECT drugs.  A lancet prick will NOT transmit HIV. No risk. And PEP? that would be scary if a doctor would even consider giving you pep for this. why all of a sudden are you worried your friend has hiv? that's irrational.

So no need to test then? Also can I have unprotected sex with my wife?

This is a volunteer forum and if you can't be patient and wait, your alternative is seeing your doctor for information.

Hi Team,

Initially i thought lancets sharing isn't risky with my roommate. I told same thing to doctor as doctor told me he is risky person and he might have HIV.

Even He is HIV+ i m in risk with immediate multiple lancets sharing.

Shall I go for PEP as I have time?

Also Dr on here medhelp suggest that it is low risk event.

Why thi is discrepancy?

Could you please explain why this isn't risky?

Also if not risky, do I need go for test?

no risk. A lancet is a prick, end exposed to air. A needle for injection is quite different. You weren't injected but pricked. NO risk
