Should I get retested?

I had unprotected sex with a woman that I did not know. I am a white heterosexual non drug using male. We only had vaginal sex for about 30 seconds before I stopped it. I got tested at 9 weeks for HIV, and the test was negative. I know HIV tests are not officially conclusive until 12 weeks. My doctor told me that my situation did not require me to be retested at 12 weeks and that I am fine. Is this true?

Thanks for the help

Hello,
Unprotected sex poses a risk of HIV transmission.
An HIV test at the right time will give you accurate results.
A 4th generation test should be done at 4 weeks post exposure and a simple HIV test at three months post exposure.

Bestrong is correct. if you have had 4th gen test (also called Duo or Combi test) your 9 weeks is conclusive!!
