Sin City, Hookers, Herpes, and HIV

I headed from Cali to Vegas for a weekend of fun for my buddys batchelor party, but it basically turned my life up side down.  I was extremely intoxicated and decided to buy a hooker.  Yep, awful idea, but we all make mistakes...I just made a HUGE one.  Anyway, a condom was used, although I struggled to maintain an erection.  She alternated from giving me a blowjob (with condom on) to vaginal sex (with condom on). I'm pretty sure the condom never slipped completely off, although it might have slipped up the shaft a bit as I went from hard to limp, and vice versa.  Also, I'd be lying if I said the encounter was a long one...although I was drunk it couldn't have lasted longer than 4-5 minutes.  After waking up the next morning, I thought "maybe my embarrassing lack of stamina saved me from getting an STD!"

I think I spoke too soon...It has been a few weeks, and I am getting hit pretty hard by genital herpes symptoms: tingling skin near penis, testes, and anus, pain inside of my penis, although no signs yet of "herpes blisters". Of course, paranoia has also set in, and I'm feeling like a blabbering hypochondriac (sorry if I come across as I bit ensecure and venting, but I can't help it...I felt like I was going to explode at work today).

My questions might be stupid, and it has probably been asked before, but I'm literally on the verge of a nervous breakdown:  IF I got herpes while using protection, what are my chances that I got HIV along with it? I read that herpes can be spread through skin-to-skin contact.  Can HIV be transmitted through the skin if the prostitute had both herpes and HIV?  Also, I've read that HIV isn't easily spread during vaginal sex...how much more likely is someone to get herpes than get HIV, assuming the infected parter had both?

Clearly, I recognize that she very well might not have had HIV.  However, I'm not willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.  Like I said, I know the condom was on when I ejaculated because I watched it swell up with semen.  It might have momentairly slipped off, although maybe that's just paranoia making me second guess the whole experience.

I scheduled an appoint with my doctor, although the earliest he can get me in is next week.  Should I get tested for everything, including HIV (even though it will only have been 3 weeks or so)?  Thanks so much for all of your help, and reading your posts has been both comforting and informative.

"Like I said, I know the condom was on when I ejaculated because I watched it swell up with semen"

That means that you were protected. As long as a condom is on the head of your penis through the entire act of intercourse, then there is no risk for HIV and you do not need HIV testing. STD questions should be asked in the appropriate STD forum.

You don't contract HIV from using a condom.
