TEAK help me

Dear Teak,

Does one time injection sharing with hiv positive person delay the window period?
Is it still same: 3 months?

Does coinfection Hepatitis C and HIV delay the window period? Is it still 3 month?

Thank you

As you were told at Aidmeds that is for 'CHRONIC IV DRUG ABUSES"  it has nothing to do with your one time use.

Teak, the actual problem is one of your responses.

You, many times, stated that 6 month testing is warranted for drug users. My exposure was not sex but re-used injection. So, I feel that I need to wait 6 months for conclusive result.

Please explain me

They are just being conservative saying 6 Months.3 Months is conclusive. One person seroconverts at 6 months out of literally millions and they tell everyone to test at 6months,Its rubbish.

Thank you Teak.

I hate thebody.com doctors who say 6 month is warranted for occupational exposures due to coinfection of HCV and HIV.

Why do they insist on 6 month testing for coinfection.

One time injection drug use does not delay the window period.  HCV does not delay the window period.
