Teak or whoever: question about my results!

Yesterday(9/2/08) I went in for my 6 month HIV test and the first one came back inconclusive. I had to do a follow-up finger ***** rapid test the same day and that one came back negative. Is the follow-up test accurate?  What could have caused the inconclusive test?
