20 mins is fine. Wouldn't change much. Any time after 15 mins of drinking water is good to regenerate oral fluid.
Was your risk oral, anal or vaginal and did you use a condom?

If you didn't follow the instructions, you won't get a useful test result. Otherwise they wouldn't give instructions.
