Unprotected vaginal and anal

Hi there last month I had an exposure it’s now been 25 days and I have taken a hiv duo test. Do I need to carry on testing? Second question if my sexual encounter was on the 27th of December 2020 what can I class as 28 days 23 of January 2021?

The 4th generation test is considered conclusive at 28 days.  Count the days from your last event.  When you reach 28 days, that is the day to test.  If you're not sure about including the first/last day, just wait a few extra days to test.

Thank you  I did a hiv combo test at the clinic today which was only 25 days from exposure what’s the likely hood of that changing?  I don’t have it in me to wait the few extra days I need to get this out of my mind. Thank you
Unlikely to change, but obviously not certain or the test would be considered conclusive at 25 days.  You can take it as many times as you like, but it won't be conclusive, and you won't have it out of your mind, until after at least 28 days.
That’s what I’m trying to figure out 27th December to 23rd January sits at 28 days.
Open a calendar and count them out.  You can't really expect someone else to do that for you.
Do I include the date of exposure? Or count the day after?
The date of exposure is day zero.
Okay thank you
Guess I have to wait till Monday then I was going to take it on Saturday as I was counting the day of exposure as many would. No clinics are open on Sunday in U.K. which make it 28 days.
I have been reading up on hiv pcr rna tests would it be conclusive if I booked myself In for one tomorrow? Would I still need to wait for a duo test? I have called the clinic up and they have advised me that the date of exposure is the first day and now I’m confused totally!!
Again, that test would be a very good indication, as is the test you already took.  The DUO test is considered THE most definitive diagnostic test at this time.

You have had a nearly conclusive DUO test.  The chances from a one-time event with an HIV+ partner are still low.  I suspect that you don't even know that your partner WAS HIV+, further lowering the odds that 1) you had an HIV+ partner AND 2) got HIV from a one-time encounter AND 3) had a negative DUO at 25 days.

You are creating your own anxiety.  I am not able to help you with that.
That’s fine I will take one on Saturday and one on Monday and close the book there. Please can you tell me why doctors that were on this forum originally have changed their stance to test out to 6 weeks I have been reading their threads and they say they have changed the guidelines?

Thank you
You will need to ask them.  None of us can speak for anyone else.  Most experts still say 28 days when the partner involved is not confirmed to be HIV+.
But your going off the experts advise that previously were on here giving information, Dr HHH, and the other doctor who are on another forum called ASHA. (Ask the Experts).
You are putting words in my mouth.  In no way have I ever indicated that I am using a sole source for information.

Test when you want to test.  Test when you feel that you'll be comfortable that it's conclusive.  That is YOUR call to make.  I'm not going to debate you, and I'm not going to feed what now seems like an irrational level of anxiety, given the 3 factors I mentioned previously.

Best of luck to you.
Ok thank you I will take the duo test at 28 days. Kind regards and thank you for your time.
I have been for hiv 4 gen test at 27 days and 14 hours post exposure, the exposure occurred on the 27 December 2020, i tested today on 23 jan 2021, just wondering if my test come back negative later this evening can I stop testing or should I carry on testing your advise is really much appreciated. Kind regards

You haven’t mentioned anything I’m sorry I have not spoken to you before .
I asked a simple question on the difference of testing at 27 days and abit and at 28 days. For example if I had and exposure on the 1st would it be suitable for me to test on the 28th as in 28 days? I have ask the same questions a few times all I have got back is a really bad attitude. I’m not here to argue with anyone just for some advise not something that’s copied and pasted.
Reread Curfew's advice that I copied because it can't be made clearer or different -  since she discussed timeline in several posts to you. You have asked this question numerous times, so I'm not sure why you are still asking it.
Just received a negative report, I will go and test one more time on Monday and then put it behind me.
