Truvada as PEP after oral sex
Hi, I am a newly single gay man and plan to go back on PrEP.
2 weeks ago I got naked with another man and I gave him oral sex. I had a cut in my mouth/sore gum.
My doctor prescribed me Truvada generic 43 hours later, and I have now been taking it daily as PrEP. Would this also work as PEP, in case I was exposed?

Thank you, bless you. Would Truvada alone as PEP at 43 hours help, if I DID have a risk?
Reread the advice and answer the QUESTION, then you know what to do. Answer> No penis in my anus and he didn't inject me so I should move on and stop wasting my time taking a medication for zero purpose. You seem to have hiv fixation, so if you can't stop worrying see a therapist - and ditch your current doc for one who won't prescribe PEP just to get you out of his office. I presume you were very worried so he probably just wanted to get rid of you.

Post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) may help prevent HIV infection.
Hiv is a fragile virus in air or saliva and is effectively instantly dead in either air or saliva so the WORST that could happen is dead virus rubbed you, and obviously anything which is dead cannot live again so you are good. Blood and cuts would not be relevant in your situation since the hiv has become effectively dead, so you don't have to worry about them to be sure that you are safe.
There is no reason for a person to test when they are safe. The advice took into consideration that the other person might be positive, so move on and enjoy life instead of thinking about this non-event. hiv prevention is straightforward since there are only 3 ways you can become infected, so next time you wonder if you had a risk, ask yourself this QUESTION. "Did I do any of the 3?" Then after you ANSWER "No, I didn't" you will know that it's time to move on back to your happy life.
No one got hiv from what you did during 40 years of hiv history and no one will get it in the next 40 years of your life either. You can do what you did any time and be safe from hiv.
The other person's status is irrelevant when you have no exposure to live virus.
If you still have questions about your risk, after reading all of the above, then it is because you didn't answer the QUESTION above.
You should not be taking PEP, since you were not exposed to hiv.
