HIV risk: Fingering (Vaginal Fluids on penis)

Hi all, if I got vaginal fluids on my fingers after fingering and touched my penis head very shortly after (talking seconds) is this a risk for HIV? Also is it actually true HIV is no longer infectious once it’s outside the body? I have read it doesn’t survive for very long but not sure how long “very long” means

Your question has been fully answered that no one gets HIV from what you describe and the risks have been explained to you.

You already asked about this and were told it wasn't a risk. As a reminder, the only risks for HIV are to have unprotected vaginal or anal sex or share IV drug needles to inject drugs. Fingering is never a risk. Air inactivates the virus.  So, please remember this for any and all future fingering questions. Unless you did one of the three things listed as risks, you will not get HIV.

Fair enough - I guess my concern comes from that point around air inactivating the virus. What's the truth behind this (i.e. does it honestly inactivate almost immediately)? CDC/NHS etc. all say it doesn't survive outside the body for very long, but I am not really sure what that means. I also saw a comment saying whilst it may take time for it to die, the virus itself cannot reproduce outside a human host - I assume this is what you mean when you say air inactivates?
You're really overthinking this in terms of looking for an explanation.  The fact is that NOBODY gets HIV in the way you describe.  HIV is not transmitted via indirect contact like that - finger to vagina, and then finger to penis.  HIV requires direct contact (penis inside anus or vagina) and is not even easily transmitted in those instances.  You will never get HIV via touching fluids, and then touching your own penis.
Thanks. I wanted to ask just to confirm, is the advice you provide supported by scientific information / latest guidelines etc.? For example the guidance that air inactivates the virus, whilst I have no doubt is true, I am just looking to make sure that information is credible and is not just an opinion. My apologies if that come across as personal or offensive, not the intention.
hiv science is 40 years old Reread about NOBODY.
It's time to move on instead of continuing to repeat the same questions since Mar 22 - now you are asking if we are sure?
