WINDOW PERIOD

hi every one! I'm from Vietnam and many people in my country are really confused about the window period of HIV infection. Some clinics say the window period is 3 months after exposure meanwhile others say it is 6 months even 9 months. And that makes the patients so worried. It would be very kind of you to help me with this question. I will consider your answer to help the other members in other Vietnamese HIV forums. Many thanks all of you!

Thanks LIZZIE LOU!
i just wonder if the window period of 3 months is also applied for clinics in Vietnam or we're still using the old methods which take longer up to 6 months because Vietnam is just a developing country and lots of the information is outdated for so long. Anyhow, thanks for your answer!

all clinics in Vietnam are applying the method DETERMINE HIV 1/2 which search for antibodies. So many people are concerned about the conclusive answer for the window period
