Your instrumental cleaning solution may have many anti-bacterial properties and hence if not , then HIV is a very Fragile virus which needs certain condition to infect someone.. Once EXPOSED to air and materials it remain NON-INFECTIOUS and Eventually , It cannot spread... This is also apply to your Cleaning solution .. Therefore the solution CANNOT remain INFECTIOUS ..
From above points ------ YOU HAD NO RISK. You're Safe.
HIV virus cannot survive outside the body, so you DONT HAVE ANY RISK.
if this was the case, the whole world would have banned public swimming pools, !
please please stop worrying abt this .
Thanks for the comment.
But this is not the case of the public swimming pool. Those instruments were specificity used on a HIV patient, the patient had a extraction that day , so the instruments had blood on the surface, while swimming pool doesn't.
I'm still anxiety for it. Can't focus on anything now.
Stop being paranoia You DONT have an HIV concern..
Please accept the FACTS and kindly continue you with your life rather then thinking about HIV.
Thank u so much!
But I hear about that there's medication after the exposure, i wonder if I should take it JUST IN CASE, then I will be more relieve! But where can I get it??? Now it's almost been 37hr, I need to take action ASAP !!!
No DR would give you that medication.
Why? I need that to protect myself. Don't get it!
because u had no risk like you have been told. maybe time to change jobs
Because the instruments sat fopr such a long period (in a solution that no doubt has a virucidal quality)..there is no way the solution would have contained active HIV.
I want to clarify too, just for your knowledge that an anti BACTERIAL product would obviously have no effect on any virus. That doesbn't relate to your situation, but it was mentioned above, and I wanted to clarify.
Also, you wouldn't have a chance of becoming infected due to the small quantity of solution involved. IN exposures related to eye splashes, a true risk would involve a LARGE amount of FRESH blood or body fluids. And most times, those kinds of exposures do not lead to infection anyway.
My advice to you would be to report this to your boss, as it is important for companies to adhere to their exposure protocols, especially because it involves a known + patient. They may require you to go through testing..that is a formality.
I also urge you, for your own peace of mind, to start using protective goggles for these types of situations. Again, not because you had a risk, but because it will make YOU feel better. Sadly, a lot of people cannot put their minds at rest about a no risk situation when they know it involved a confirmed HIV patient.
To repeat...this was NOT a risk. There is simply NO biological way the HIV virus would have remained active that long, even if the instruments hadn't been soaking. You have nothing at all to worry about.
U though I don't want to?
The good think is i have one more semester to go to get my bachelor degree, so I can do something else.
I just don't understand, even tho as every one said I have no risk, but what's wrong with taking those medicine? I just want to be ensured. It's just for my peace of mind. I'm not doing drug!!!
Why don't you go take the morning after pill?
Thank u very much! That comfort me a lot. I'm slowly calming down now.
So I can completelymove on now......???
Same as nPEP, no reason what so ever. Yes move along.
