I did a stupid thing..Feeling very anxious?

So about a month ago, I did something incredibly stupid and unlike me. I was on my period and just got done working out at the gym, and I had to meet some friends for dinner in like a half hour. So I removed my pad and put it in the trash and went and took a shower. Well normally I have extra pads in my purse or bag, go out of the shower.. Nothing! Rummaged through my gym bag, again nothing! I was like, oh crap. I asked around to the ladies in the locker and nobody had any extra sanitary napkins, there were no stores nearby I could drive to to buy without being late to lunch and my period was a bit heavy, so I knew regular tissue wouldn't work through dinner. So I went back to the restroom and snatched my pad back out of the trash.I even asked my friends when I got to dinner and nobody have any extra! It was a foolish move by me and I am so embarassed, and I only wore it for about an hour and a half after that because I had nothing else and changed it out immediately when I had the chance. I am scared.. is there a way I could catch HIV from doing that from other women's stuff in there? It is not my norm but I feel so embarrassed and stupid.

As an adult, the only risks for HIV are:
1) having unprotected, penetrative vaginal or anal sex, or
2) sharing IV drug needles with other IV drug users.

If you don't do either of those activities, you will never have to worry about HIV.  There is nothing you can add to this account that would make it a risk for HIV.
