a little advise please

last august i had a 10-15 minute episode of unprotected vaginal sex with a thai sex worker. i was very drunk and couldnt get a condom on etc due to my penis not erecting properly. so drunk infact that i didnt ejaculate inside her just a couple of brief "in and outs" then i left. i didnt notice any symptoms 2-10 weeks after. march of this year i got very bad bout of tonsilitis. penicillin done the trick but my glands have been imflamed on and off since, and i have a few spots on the roof of my mouth at the back and a sore throat right now, aswell as feeling washed out with "head-cold" like syptoms- stuffyness, sneezing, weakness etc. went to my GP yesterday and she suspected glandular fever or perhaps another "non-specific" viral issue. i was sent for a blood test and am awaiting results. will that blood test show up any other virus's such as HIV aswell as the mono? iam aware that im not in the "high risk" catagory from one vaginal episode- but naturally the anxiety gets you a bit when you have swollen glands etc....but my symptoms arent necessarily typical of early HIV are they? according to general research ive done.... any advise would be greatly appreciated.

i have had similar syptoms as u but they stress a million times that syptoms are irrelavent and that testing is the only way to find out your status.

Typically, the symptoms of ARS (Acute Retroviral Syndrome) start about 2-4 weeks after initial infection, and last (generally) between 1-2 weeks.
Some of your symptoms not even resemble ARS, so it should be any other problem that is affecting you.
The test for HIV (wich detects HIV antibodies to be correct) is a specific test, and canot  be done without the person's permission and consent.
My advice is: try to relax, and do an HIV test, and since you're beyond the window period (which is three months, and is the window period  which we are guided here in Medhep) as a result you will have a conclusive test.
Only the test will be conclusive, not the symptoms.

Take care.

Unprotected vaginal sex warrants HIV testing, we can't ***** any thing with symptoms. Symptoms don't mean any thing. You need to take an HIV anti-body test, a test at this juncture would be good to put all your anxiety at rest.

Good Luck.
