unprotected vaginal sex, rna pcr and antibody test at 9 weeks and 3 days negative

unprotected vaginal sex, rna pcr and antibody test at 9 weeks and 3 days negative

do i need to test at 12 weeks (besides for "technical reasons")
like from a practical standpoint wouldn't one of those tests have been positive by 9 weeks if i was positive for hiv?
under what circumstance would i test negative on both those tests, taken the same day, and still have hiv (while not using anti-viral drugs)

Let's all chill, ok?  We don't allow anyone to insult anyone else, and really, everyone is saying the same thing here - 9 weeks is a really good sign, test at 3 months for a conclusive result.

thanks.. i know that the CDC recommends 3 months and that's the official time that I should be comfortable with.. any fool can google that.. i put my question here for in-depth discussion about it, because that's what forums are for.. for people to discuss these things with a little greater depth that ctrl+v...  i'll go get tested in 3 more weeks and in the mean time rest-assured that my result should not change.

i have been reading this forum for months.. and think that the ppl who are sincerely here to help rather than secretly scare people into seething in worry for 3 months- are really good people.. i wish i had the knowledge to feel comfortable joining the positive portion of this task force to balance out the jerks..

thinking you have hiv can be so scary and consuming...

6 weeks gives you an excellent indication of status. 3 months is totally conclusive. just know this that there has never been a single case proved in the entire united states that a person who was negative at 9 weeks became positive at 3 months. the CDC is very conservative in their beliefs and nothing is wrrong with that. Teak and lizzie are the experts they say three months.  6 weeks is a great indciation, 3 months is totally conclusive.

if at 9 weeks its 99 .99 percent the FDA would have set the window period 2 months but as long at its 12 weeks then we follow the FDA 3 months post exposure

I would appreciate if you would discontinue disagreeing with me. Read the comments provided by the doctors on the expert forum. They both agree a negative antibody test as well as a negative PCR at 9 weeks is "proof positive" one did not contract HIV. On this forum, they stick with the CDC's guidelines of 3 months, and I also agree with that. However, having been a nurse for 2+ years, I also agree with the doctors that there is almost no chance he will turn to positive when he goes for his conclusive 3 month result. My comment was not a "mistake."

i'm trying to figure out the circumstance underwhich both these tests, performed on the same day would be negative- then i later on test positive for hiv?

it seems impossible, right? if i have no antibodies and no virus, doesn't that mean no HIV? especially after all this time.. is the 3 month suggestion only a copy and paste response or is it sincere?

yes and it has mistake in it at 9 weeks its not 99.99 percent nothing is like that in biology so 3 months post exposure is final

Did you read all of my comment? I told him he still needs an antibody test at 3 months for his conclusive result. Obviously, the test would be FDA approved if done in a doctor's office or lab.

If you asked the doctors on the expert forum, they would most definitely tell you that you have solid proof you were not infected. That you had a negative antibody at 9 weeks AND a negative PCR at 9 weeks is 99.99% proof you were not infected. Rest easy- the chances of this changing to positive at 12 weeks is greater than the chance of getting hit by a UFO. You still need to get one last antibody test at the 3 month mark for your conclusive result. Chances are STRONGLY in your favor it will be negative!
