Question for person with hiv experience...regarding blood draw today. Phlebotomist used a butterfly needle (type with rubber end over needle going into tube), wore gloves, did not cover the rubber end with the clear plastic cap/protector while drawing. Question is after she took the needle and blood tube out, the rubbered end of the butterfly needle swung around a bit (covered by rubber sheath but still needle underneath)- happened so quick but wasnt sure if it glanced her or me in the process...no marks/scratches, definitely no punctures. I asked her after if she stuck herself and she told me no, not at all - she said she would have felt that.
Does it just sound like paranoia on my part or legitimate concern. Forget about it?
