condoms

Hi,

I have a read a comment by the doctor saying something like 'condoms do not protect 100%'.

Are there any HIV+ cases with protected vaginal sex while condom apparently intact??

Can you please share your knowledge on this?

Thanks,

The use of condoms correctly and consistently are 100% effective. If a condom fail at 3 month test is conclusive not 6 months.

From what I know about condoms they are 99% effective but if you are worried go get a test at three and six months. I know this sounds scary but the Oraquick ones take like 20 mins and peace of mind is a good thing. I do want to say that you did have PROTECTED sex so please do not freak out. There are people who use condoms everyday and are fine. I have not read anything on here about someone contracting HIV through protected sex unless there was a slip or break or something wrong with the situation. Do not feel bad because you need to understand that you had safe sex and good for you! Abstince is the only way to be sure of not contracting anyrhing but condoms are known to be very effective or the health departments and every other place that deals with sex would not throw them in peoples faces if they did not work.

Hi,

they are 99.9% since nothing is perfect ONLY if they don't break or slip.
Don't use double condoms and use Lube/cream (liquid types) coz they prevent slippage and breaks and also HIV hates them just like saliva.

Take care,
