guy may have had HIV, risk of me getting it???

Hi,

I'm super worried and can't stop thinking about this.

I had sex with a guy, this is very unlike me anyway which upsets me even more. I was quite drunk and from what I can remember and from what he says, we used a condom. However, he also performed oral sex on me and fingered me. I'm really concerned because he may have had semen and precum on his hands as he fingered me and I might have nicks and cuts on my vaginal area. Also, he may have rubbed his penus against my vagina, meaning precum could potentially have touched me.

The reason I am posting is because I was told that 2 months ago this guy had unprotected sex with a prostitute in Thailand. He is waiting for the 3 months to get a test done but is in army and might be unable to get one done whilst he is out there. This means that I myself will then have to wait 3 months but I get awful anxiety and am not coping very well with all this stress.

I phoned up nhs direct last night and they sent me to A & E to get the PEP pill, though the doctors later decided that I didnt need it.

What do you think the risk was of him having HIV? Also the risks of him passing it onto me??

help me please, im losing my mind :(

I have exact experience but have been sick for over 2months. Got tested using alere determine hiv-1/2 @ 6 and 8 weeks mark and both came negative. I just hope it doesn't change when I go @ 12 weeks.

Correct...transmission requires penetration as in unprotected penis inside the vaginal penetrating the tissue.
his pre-cum will not infect your cut

sorry to keep repeating myself but I just want to be completely clear....the virus would not survive even as precum still on his penis if rubbed against a cut on my vaginal area/internal?

Even with pre-cum on his fingers the virus does not survive when exposed to air, so you have No Risk for HIV even with cuts...

Thank you so much everyone!!!!! I've been making myself sick with worry. I'm usually so sensible and clued up but I've just been completely doubting myself.

I feel so stupid and fooled :( NEVER EVER AGAIN! its not worth the worry

So even if he had cum on his fingers, he would not have transmitted the virus through any wounds that may be present in and/or around my vagina????

There is no debate (among experts) about the HIV risks associated with oral sex. The risk is so low that almost nobody who cares for HIV infected patients has ever had a patient believed to have been infected that way. Among experts, it's a semantic issue about using terms like "no risk" and "very low risk". There is no difference between my or Dr. Hook's use of "low risk" and other experts' "no risk".
DR. HANSFIELD

"And oral sex is basically safe sex -- completely safe with respect to HIV and although not zero risk for other STDs, the chance of infection is far lower than for unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Please educate yourself about the real risks. If you stick with oral sex and condom-protected vaginal or anal sex, you have no HIV worries and very little worry about other STDs. " DR HANSFIELD

"I am sure you can find lots of people who belive that HIV is transmitted by oral sex, but you will not find scientific data to support this unrealistic concern..." DR HOOK

"HIV is not spread by touching, masturbation, oral sex or condom protected sex."- DR. HOOK

in the public HIV Prevention forum of MedHelp, TEAK and the other moderators maintain that oral sex in all forms is a zero risk activity. Would you agree with this assessment?
I TOTALLY AGREE / DR GARCIA

"HIV is not spread by masturbation, through oral sex, through kissing or other casual contact." Dr.Hook

"The observation on thousands and thousands of observations is that HIV is not spread by oral sex (of any sort)." DR HOOK

Condom protected sex- zero RISK
ORAL SEX - little or no risk some where in 1;10000.EVEN NOW THEY SAY ORAL SEX DO NOT HAVE ANY RISK AS HIV IS NOT PRESENT IN ANY SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT IN SALIVA.
Fingring- NO RISK as HIVcannot reproduce out side the body.

SO CONSIDERING YOUR LOWEST RISK DOCTOR WERE RIGHT THAT YOU DO NOT NEED PEP. AND YOU DO NOT NEED TESTING.IF YOU NEED TO TEST THEN GET AT 11-12 WEEKS BUT ITS FOR YOUR RE ASSURANCE .IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RISK YOU DESCRIBE.

You had No Risk for HIV from oral sex, had No Risk from him rubbing his penis against your vagina even if you had cuts, and you had No Risk for HIV using condoms for vaginal sex. All is All You Had No Risk For HIV
