Worried post Fingering

Hi Doctor, had an episode where I fingered a local women of unknown HIV status at a bar in an African country. Did non insertive fingering on the women for quite a while, no cuts in the fingers of both hands, however had a 41/2 day old non bleeding cut at the base of my thumb ( it still pained, however there was no visible blood for at least a couple of days). Is there a possibility that i could have contacted HIV through this exposure...Please help, have been a nervous wreck for the last year that this happened.....

Thanks in anticipation...waiting for your response....

Your risk of contracting HIV is negligible....in 4 & 1/2 days your cut would be healed....so even if we (for teh sake of argument) agree that the woman was HIV positive...even then there is no risk of transmission...as it requires a very fresh deep cut...so do not panic..you will stress yourself and no need of testing...you are safe..chill out
