Royally Freaked Out
For four and half years I was in the armed forces, a medic and very sexually active, a lot not protected (was married also). Had regular HIV testing done with no problems. I got out 2003 and had two unprotected encounters. Got tested immediately after with negative results. Recently just got out of a two and half year relationship. It was "open" but he was very protected (dental dams, gloves, etc), and I had two other sexual partners, both protected. There were times we went unprotected vaginally, never used protection anally or orally. About a month ago I was informed I had HPV. So far, everything is okay, but now I'm totally going nuts. Paranoid about everything now. The guy I had unprotected sex with in 2003 just informed me that he has NEVER been tested for anything (and was rather nonchalant about it). Besides wanting to neuter him, I got a total test up today and have to wait two weeks for the results. I think my last HIV test was a year and half ago, maybe around the beginning of the two year relationship. My sexual encounters of late have been protected vaginally, but not orally. Been seeing the same guy for three months now, no one else. I feel that if anybody has had a problem, I would have known about it by now, but it's been a hell of a six months, and everybody is telling me that I'll be okay but I 'm so freaked out right now. Some real information would be greatly appreciated. sorry so long. :(
Sorry for the incoherence, but when I get freaked out it's very easy to start rambling. But thank you very much for the reassurance.
First of all, HPV is not related to HIV at all. HIV is uncommon in straight people, but most straight people get HPV at some point. So, that is no reason to freak out.
Second, your post is incoherent, I can't figure out when you had unprotected sex and with whom. The good news is that, again, HIV is very rare in straight, non-drug-using men. So you should expect a negative on your HIV test.

Actually the HPV was found in Sept. I think I may have out this under the wrong topic, but I hope there are some thoughts available. Thank you very much.
