A one-time unprotected encounter with someone HIV+ is very low risk (0.11% for circumcised top, 0.62% for uncircumcised), so keep that in mind.
Unless you know for sure that your partner has not had unprotected intercourse since his last test, his test won't mean a lot to you. If you are confident he hasn't had unprotected intercourse since his last test, then a negative test in 2 days time means he was not infected at the time you had intercourse with him.
