Is Oraquick reliable - worried well as hell

Hey - I had the "highest of the high risk" in August 2005 - anal sex, unprotected, with a man of unknown status (I am male, was receptive).  A stupid impulsive thing for me to do.  I tested negative with Oraquick Advance Rapid oral mucosal swab in May, 2006 - 8 months 2 weeks later.  The question: is that test reliable?  Even more so...I have had symptoms since then, mainly oral stuff (coated tongue, thrush?, erythematous candidiasis? apthous ulcers?) and worried out of my mind.  Even with therapy and medical treatment for anxiety/depression.  I would love to hear input from this community.  I want desperately to be negative, and move on with my life, accepting my good fortune and learning from this unfortunate event.  Thanks, so much...this a great forum!

See a Doc if you are concerned about your symptoms, check your stress levels

My question is, if the tests are reliable and it isn't HIV, could there be any other STD that would cause these symptoms?  oral thrush,  blurry vision, sore joints, muscle or weight loss at my thighs and my chin, chronic fatigue, shortness of breath, confusion and memory loss, mainly oral stuff (coated tongue, thrush?, erythematous candidiasis? apthous ulcers?)
What type of tests should be done to rule something out?  Would a routine physical be enough?

You did not get HIV from your encounter with the prostitute. If you have no new exposures, then you can conclusively say you are HIV negative.

I am new to this sight and would appreciate anybody's input.                                                                                                                         Apx 2yrs ago I had unprotected sex with a prostitute. Shoot me for this mistake!! I tested myself apx 3 months with the home acces kit and was negative. I did not think much about it afterwards as I thought I was O.K. Then about 7 months ago I had oral thrush twice and I started to get blurry vision. Since this time I got tested two more times and both were negative.I have continueing symptoms such as sore joints, muscle or weight loss at my thighs and my chin, continueing vision problems, chronic fatigue, shortness of breath, confusion and memory loss. All of these are symptoms of hiv but the test are negative. Is there anything that can make a test a false negative given the amount of time? The doctors cannot explain the symptoms especially I noticed when they only look at their part. I.E. they look at oral thrush by itself and sey it could be caused by antibiotics etc. I was not on antibiotics during this time. That is how it's been going for me for 7 months now. No answers only questions. Can you help?

Well, I did the same thing about 3 weeks ago -unprotected sex with a guy I had not met before & I was the receiver.  After not having sex for literally YEARS, I did.  I must get tested - Q: which is the best test to get??  I'm in contact with the guy as I had told him before we had sex that I wasn't positive -he told me the same about himself.  I'm totally saddened that I've no better sense.  Q: In the event that he is positive & he either lied/ & or he didn't/ doesn't know -does this mean that I am most probably positive??
Help with these 2 questions, please.
I couldn't have been MORE stupid!  Guess the loneliness just built-up for too many years and resulted in a 1-night mistake.
Thanks for listening.
