Peripheral Neuroapthy?

Had an unportected sexual exposure with a woman of unknown status at the beginning of the year.. Early january to be exact. Two weeks after the encounter I came down with symptoms such as exteme muscle twitching and cramping in my calves and hamstrings, headahces concentrated in the back of my head, burning sensations in my hands and feet, twitching in different spots all over body. I tested for HIV multiple times out to 6 months but the symptoms have stayed pretty consistent and do not know what to think now... Read up on peripheral neuropathy and my symptoms seem to be consistent with it.. Please if someone could give me some insight

You have conclusive negative results...tests outweigh symptoms. See a Dr, you do not have HIV.

You absolutely do not have HIV. Like Vance said, test results always rule over any and all symptoms. This is not HIV. There are many things that could cause peripheral neuropathy. Are you diabetic? This is a major cause of neuropathy.

Whatever the case, this is not caused by HIV because you have tested negative. Relax!

dont worry my friend, the tests ALWAYS win againts symptoms.

i havnt tested yet but am experiencing neuropathy aswell. mine is burning/tingling/freezing sensations in my feet and calves with some muscle twitching.

HIV can, rarely cause this in primary infection so i agree it is something that could alarm you.

however EBV, a much more contagious virus (causes mono and spread through kissing) is know to cause muscle twitching and burning sensations in the body especially hands and feet. Also herpes could cause this and CMV could cause this, i garantee it is not a HIV worry, be calm you ok mate.

Two weeks after the unprotected sexual encounter I had on Jan. 6, I started experiencing rectal discharge and peripheral neuropathy that has not gone away in over 8 months.... The non stop headache I have and non stop neck stiffness along with the muscle twitching causes me too worry. I tested neg for HIV with blood drawn sample sent to lab at 11 and 14 weeks. Tested neg with two finger prick rapid tests at 9,16 weeks and with oral rapid tests at 19 and 25 weeks. I am 24 years old and live in the states and have never felt these symptoms before and they will not go away and I was tested for everything under the sun at 12 weeks and all neg.. I have set up an appt to be tested on Monday for HIV and that will be over 8 1/2 months since the encounter.. Please pray for me

I think I can say that this forum can't be of any help to you anymore. You have 4 people telling you that you do not have HIV but you choose not to believe us.
