Hello guys,

I did two HIV 1 2 4G trials with the search for p24. I was extremely pleased when the 11 days of the exam is sexual act 'Negative. As we all know there is a window to perform the tests, and I saw Dr. Hook and Hunter on forums that claim to 4G Exam window would be 22 days, with negative case closed. But today I saw 2 posts of directors of the site saying that we should wait 3 months after contact. Could someone explain this to me better? Doctors talk to 22 days are wrong?

* Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusively negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to action by MedHelp. Conclusively negative results or a no-risk situation will be based upon the criteria established by MedHelp’s doctors. Action will be taken as follows:
    * After excessive posting, a warning will be issued by MedHelp
    * Continuing to post regarding the negative result / no risk situation will result in a 3 day suspension
    * Continuing to post upon your return will result in a permanent ban.

Hi,sorry i don't know Dr Handsfield,I am only new here but I know Dr Cummings and what you are saying has merit but I believe that no hiv test is definitively negative until 3 months.

But because Dr. Hunter and Hok say that 22 days is already possible to detect the virus with the p24? I'm confused!

Hi,they are not entirely wrong. The p24 combination test will detected the majority of infections by around 28 days or 4 weeks, however the common Hiv window period is 3 months for a definitive result.
