Please Help!!!

Hello all,

This is my dilemma, I went to a clinic to get some tests done and some blood had to be drawn. All went well expect the person who took the blood was not wearing gloves. I know HIV cannot be transmitted by casual contact but my concern is I had a bleeding cut from the blood draw. If he had an open cut or sore and came in contact with my open bleeding finger isn’t it possible for HIV to be transmitted? 3 weeks after this incident I have developed some fever and body ace. Does this incident require testing?

time to move on from this forum...you do not have a hiv concern and the answers are NOT going to change regardless of how many times you ask about it.

Hi Ithougtiwasdone,

The person who did the test should have worn gloves for the procedure, but nevertheless, it wasn't a risk at all for hiv.

You do not need testing from this incident, relax!

Take care.

May God bless

Thanks so much for the answer

So even he touched my bleeding finger with his open cut or sore it still doesn't pose a risk?

By not wearing a glove, the guy was putting himself under risk from you, not you from him. If he had an open cut, he wouldnt be there. open cuts gush out blood. And if he had a wound you would have seen.

That's the answer I was looking for.
Am I right in assuming the cut on his hands has to be activly bleeing in order for HIV transimission to occur?

Teak,

I have gotten some great responses from other people but I would love to hear from you.
I spoke to a Doctor who said there is a theoretical risk if my bleeding finger came in contact with his open cuts or sores.I really don't want to take an HIV test for this incident.
Thank you!

Does the fact that the person who conducted the test is HIV+ make any difference in your assesment?
