Many people who have become newly infected with HIV will have High fevers--101+ body rash, sore throat at around 2 to 4 weeks post--exposure.
it is not good to believe others words on their sanctity. Occurrence or non occurrence of symptoms doesn't say anything on hiv status.
So is my risk low considering the lack of fever and rash and only symptom is swollen nodes in neck and groin, considering the fact that my partner has had sex only one time with someone else in his life and it was protected nd considering the fact that here on Staten Island, of the approximate 500,000 people living here, 2,000 are HIV positive?
ARS never has a single symptom. ARS has multiple symptoms if one has them at all. HIV has no specific symptoms. Reason being symptoms are not used to diagnose HIV.
Is it true that it's highly unlikely to experience ARS when you're not experiencing a fever and a rash? I only have swollen lymph nodes but a doctor on this site said that swollen nodes with ARS are always accompanied by high fever and/or rash and typical ARS in severe sore throat, high fever and rash all over the trunk of the body?
That's my question.
What is your question? All you did was ramble on this last post.
No no I know what Teak said is true but what the two doctors that I mentioned had said on this website. Also, another doctor on this site said that aslong as your night experiencing a whole body rash, severe sore throat and high fever then you shouldn't worry since 92% of patients who are HIV infected experience ARS. Now I don't believe it could 92% experience ARS but I'm sure in my case that my only real symptom in Swollen nodes in my groin and neck and no fever and no rash and considering my exposure was sorta high but under the circumstances it couldn't be. The one in my neck below my chin went down a lot and then two in groin I just realized but they're the size of a pea. Maybe a little smaller, maybe a little larger.
Is what true? What Teak told you? What Dr.HHH and Dr.Hook said?
fever and rash is NOT involved*****
Alright I understand. Thank you. Because Doc HHH and Doc EWH said the same thing pretty much except for the fact that it's most probably not ARS your experiencing when a fever and rash is involved. And if you have swollen nodes due to ARS they would always be accompanied by a high constant fever and most probably a rash as well.

* Although swollen nodes are common during and after ARS, it is not typical to have swollen nodes as a sole symptom of ARS.
* Is it possible that your nodes are not swollen but are just more palpable because you are underweight?
* May be what you are describing as "size of a pea" is actually normal. Remember, the size of normal lymph nodes ranges from a few millimeters to about 1–2 cm (think giant peas).
* Don't poke your poor lymph nodes too much; they may get enlarged.
* See a doctor and let him/her decide if you really have swollen nodes.
2 to 4 weeks post--exposure.Happens in about 50--70% of infected people.
ARS symptoms--very high fevers--101+ rash on trunk--torso & limbs very sore throat.
