scared

my mom just told me that she was diagnosed with hiv. now for whatever reason i feel alone and scared and im trying to be strong for her while trying to protect myself too. i myself get tested every so often and i have always been hiv -. she just tole me this on 9/18. since then, my mind runs wild about if i had ever put myself at risk. i dont want to bring this up to her because i dont want her to make her feel ashamed and on top of this she asked me not to tell anyone because she is not ready to be out with it ( no she doesnt have any partners right now ).. i am stuck with this secret and no one to talk to and i am also scared because there were a few things i have done that makes me think could i have infected myself such as :

*i have used her washcloth more than once before by accident and i washed my genital areas with it because ours is the same color.

*my mother used used the bathroom ( urination and she flushed) and not too long after her i went to urinate also.. as i was pulling my pants down, a quarter dropped into the toilet so i stuck my hand in the toilet bowl to get it then i went to urinate... after i did that i remembered u had split cuticles around my nails that were not fully healed and she just peed not to long ago.

i feel so stupid because my mom was an emt and she taught me medical things ever since i was young and i dont know why im freaking out about these things... i dont remember touching any blood of hers or any other bodily fluids.. i even helped her with her insulin shots which also has me thinking did i do anything then or prick myself ...im so paranoid and im paranoid for her as well. I dont want my mom to leave me anytime soon.. she is 55 and i am 22. i still need her around and i want to be healthly  also to do the best i can for her and to keep myself safe as well as my bf... i am just so scared.

She will live a normal life if she takes her medication and has a healthy diet.

You don't need to fear your mothers HIV status because you can't contract HIV from here because transmission takes place inside the body not outside it.

HIV transmission has not been reported as a consequence of contact with spillages of blood, semen or other body fluids

HIV is fragile by nature and is also extremely sensitive to even small fluctuations in temperature and the presence of oxygen. Outside of strictly controlled laboratory conditions, HIV will only survive for a couple of minutes at the very most.

The one place that HIV has been shown to survive for extended periods of time (several days) is in needles used with syringes; the needles frequently contain enough blood to prevent the HIV from drying out.

In the almost twenty-five years that scientists have been studying HIV, there has not been a single known instance of HIV being transmitted trough casual contact in the environment
