reliability of assessment

Hi today I visit a government clinic by my 8 weeks blood test and am waiting for the blood test again. Well I consult my doctor about protected sex with a HIV unknown status person. He told me that symptoms are not a reliable indicator of HIV. A infected young person may not have symptoms if he has a healthy immune system previously. He told me that protected sex still has the slight risk of being infected. However it is low risk encounter. My question is is my doctor consultation reliable ? Which I am in doubt because in this forum I seen majority of the comments and assessments stated that protected sex is totally NOT A RISK of getting HIV ?

At no time were you at risk of contracting HIV.

Your doctors opinion is stronger than any opinion on this forum. If you wnat a second medical opinion there is a doctors forum for a small fee. I would agree with your doctor that while the risk is very low, condoms are not 100% effective always. If you read any box of condoms it will tell you they do not eliminate risk entirely, mostly do to improper use. NOT A RISK is a term used too loosley in my opinion.
