sex with sex worker

hello everyone,

i had protected sex with a sex worker and recieved a blow job without protection, do i need to worry?? had a fever for a night and sickness, diaheria for 5/6 days, cough, lots of green phelgm and night sweats so got a hiv and std test at 5 weeks after and it was all clear. do i need to re-test? got one booked for 12 weeks which the doc told me to do. the doctor didnt put me at ease at all, is this just a scare tactic or what!?! Also, is it true that in early stages of hiv that a fever would be present for 1 up to 2 weeks?, and not just 1 day like myself?

thanks for the help

There was no risk for you to catch HIV. Oral is not a risk and you had protected sex. The fever that is associated with ARS usually does lasts for a week or two and is 101+. It sounds like you just have a cold.

Take care

I know people say don't trust symptoms but I suppose if ARS causes most people to have a high fever for a week or more then thats quite unusal and maybe some indicator to go to docs or get tested.

Just because you have a cold or a high temp doesen't mean you need to get tested for hiv . Could you imagine how many people would be getting tested on a dailys basis .I think anytime you have a fever for a week you should see a dr. You had protected sex you dont need to see him for your hiv concern ..
