Testing question

is there any medication or medical condition that can cause some one a false positive or false negative especially with
OraQuick In Home HIV Test?

Thanks for the reply, no I have not test I have been safe my whole life its just I ran across some information on hiv that made me think and I could not find info on what causes of  false positives to happen.

False positives are not common but do occur.
That's why a second test is required to confirm.

Did you test positive with your oraquick?
What was your risk and test history?

could any prior illness cause a false positive that you know of?

I'm not a doctor but I've asked my doctor the same thing before 3 months ago when I went for a standard STD screening (was on antibiotics for something else), the answer he told me was a definitive NO. Medication would not affect HIV testing, unless you're on PEP.
