Increased heart rate

I have recently had a cath.  The doctor doing the cath said "everything here is clear, you're fine".  The cardiologist I'm seeing said the cath showed a 30% blockage.  I'm still trying to get a clarification.  Anyway, the cardiologist put me on Amlodopine and Pravastatin.  Now, on a daily basis it seems, my heart rate increases and beats at 90-115 bpm (normally in the mid 70s).

At the same time, I've started on a vegetarian diet to try to lower my cholesterol.  To try to make sure I get enough protein, I am using a protein drink (10-14 gr protein each).  I drink 1-2 of these per day.  I've now eliminated the pravastatin temporarily to see if that is the culprit.  I guess my base question here is, does anyone know if these protein drinks will increase heart rate?

Any other insights will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

Thanks kk.  I've read that the half-life on it is something like 77 hours, so I guess it should be out of my system in about 6 days.  I'll see how it's looking then.

Thanks again.

Clinical trails of Pravastatin, commonly used to lower cholesterol and decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease, do show an increase in parasympathetic modulation of heart rate.
In simple words, Yes it does effect the heart rate to beat faster.
