Long periods of time with high blood pressure will cause artery damage and this can lead to artery disease, affecting the heart. Stress, worry will raise blood pressure. There are a few things you can obviously do in order to greatly reduce your risks and have a healthy body.
1. Have your blood pressure taken every 6 months to ensure its within normal limits.
2. Have your Cholesterol levels checked and ensure they are within recommended ranges.
3. Eat lots of healthy foods, such as fruit and veg, avoid fats and sugars as much as poss.
4. Exercise often, even walking for 20-30 minutes a day is far better than nothing.
5. Under no circumstances, smoke.
6. Do not drink excess amounts of alcohol.
7. Do not submit yourself to lots of stress. If you have a stressful job, change it.
8. Stop worrying about your heart, all the above will take you much lower in the risk zones.
A family history can just mean that they didn't lead very healthy lifestyles and doesn't mean you will end up the same way, not if you change YOUR lifestyle to you don't follow their examples.
Is there some cause for your concerns other than the risk factors you have mentioned? I am wondering why you are worried. It's like putting the horse before the cart. And to answer your question, yes stress plays a big role in how the heart functions.
it should read "heart problems not heart robs". sorry.
