Bicuspid Aortic Valve - Severe Aortic Regurgitation

My son,2.5 years has bicuspid aortic valve with severe aortic regurgitation. His LVID(D) is 39.4 mm and LVID(S)=21.9mm.LVEF=76%.He is asymptomatic. The doctors are suggesting Ross Procedure - please advise if he needs surgery at this point.

What is the definition of a severe regurgitation in a child - I have come across gradations like - Mild, Moderate, Severe on one hand plus Grade 1,2,3,4 on the other hand. Also there are differing opinions from various specailists.

Severe regurgitation suggests that it does require surgery now. I know it's hard to accept this decision but in years to come he will thank you for it.
