Holter monitors are pretty neat little devices, they tell a lot more than simple arrythmias. If a heart is enlarged, an EKG is often abnormal. A Holter would pick that up. If your heart is not pumping correctly, there may be abnormalities in the results too. An echo would be the preferred diagnostic tool though. A perfectly normal Holter would make the chances of heart failure fairly slim.
