Constant Heart Palpitations??

I've been experiencing heart palpitations almost daily for the last three weeks. They're not necessarily skipped beats or a fluttering feeling, it's more that my heart is beating harder and faster than usual; almost a throbbing or thumping sort of feeling.  It's pretty much a constant occurrence, and extremely unsettling.  I very often have trouble focusing on anything because it can be very physically uncomfortable.  It's almost as if my body is in a hyper state of being all the time, like you're engaged in a heated debate, or waiting to go in for a job interview; but all the time. I've also developed a fairly regular cough that very much seems to be correlated with this as well as painless muscle spasms or twitches all over, but no chest pain and not feeling lightheaded.  I don't smoke, don't drink excessive caffeine and definitely do not have any type of anxiety and do not feel overly stressed.  Still this is quite frightening and more than anything I just want relief from it so I can get back to regular life.  I went to the doctor and received an EKG and blood work which were both normal.  I was put on a 24 hour monitor which showed bits of sinus tachycardia but nothing more. Was put on a small dose of a beta blocker but to no avail.  I also read that being magnesium deficient might cause these symptoms so I began taking a supplement everyday which also didn't prove successful.  I have a follow up appointment in a few days and am petrified that my doctor will again say that it is just anxiety, even though the only thing making me anxious at all is the symptoms I've been experiencing.  ANY insights about this (aside from telling me that I simply need to remove stress from my life) would be GREATLY appreciated. For reference, I'm a 24 year old guy who is otherwise healthy.

What tests have you had done? I was in a similar situation. Had racing heart and anxiety so i decided to see a cardiologist who performed multiple ekgs, an echocardiogram, 2 stress echocardiograms, and 2 stress tests. He told me everything was fine and that was it. 3 weeks later i had a scary episode of racing heart and palpitations, which i went to the ER for. Nothing was found and They gave me an event monitor. I had many similar episodes for 2 weeks after that which turned out to be nothing. Except one morning i felt really scary palpitations which lasted around 5 seconds. Turns out it was ventricular tachycardia. Which blows my mind, because they perfotmed an MRI and an EP study after that and again nothing was found. Now im sitting here paranoid living laying in bed, scared as hell. Im only 23. So please getba couple more tests done!

Thanks for your response, and I'm sorry to hear about your story.  Though I'm not sure I'm in the same boat as you.  I wouldn't really say I have "episodes" its more constant than that, and has been happening for over a month, but nothing I felt the need to go to the ER for.  I've had an EKG, Holter monitor, and thyroid blood work which were all normal.  And have taken beta blockers and anxiety meds which also didn't prove successful.
