Yeah wow.. it seems like that's all I've been doing is trying to look stuff up, as of course I'd never even heard of this before they told me I had it... I didn't even know what tachycardia was in the first place! But you're right, I just need to accept what they told me and get on with it instead of letting it get me down and letting it run my life. I promise from now on, no more internet searches! Thank you again for all your kind words :)
I say just keep up the metoprolol. Make sure you stay very well hydrated, like 3+ liters of water a day. Make sure you get your rest and try and eat healthy. Stay away from caffeine, nicotine super sugary things...
I know when I first found out I had IST I did ALLLL this searching, and it made me feel a whole lot worse. Finally I accepted what I had and made a promise I wouldn't look up anything else. It's always nice though to know people who are in the same boat as you.
Give it some time. My cardio told me that he's seen more than a handful of people have this go away just as it came on. Best of luck sweets!
I have seen a cardiologist twice.. I've had all the tests done and whatnot, the echo, holtor, ekg, etc. I'm on metoprolol 50mg. I was on 25mg but they said it wasn't enough because I was still having a fast resting heart rate of 95-100. You're probably right about the internet. I'm going to try to calm down about it now. Thank you!
Hey there, I'm back remember me?! :-)
Okay first off I will say please don't take any of this the wrong way. That being said...
If I were you, I would stay away from anything related to your IST on the internet, with the exception of maybe some support groups here in the beginning. I say this because...there is definately a pychological aspect to IST. I think you are extremely lucky to be so asymptomatic with your IST. I totally understand that you are scared and looking for answers. Just try not to do too much searching on the internet. Try not to focus too much on what you have. If you become consumed with it, I definately believe it will get worse. If you tell yourself, or think about it getting worse, it probably will
I forget, are you taking meds for this? Have you seen a cardiologist yet?
