Hi, I'm 37 and I experience weird and alarming heart beats when I lie on my right side. I've been examined by three cardiologists who had no explanation for it and who just told me to lie on the left side...). From a recent experience of being hospitalized for myocarditis, I learned that a blood test could clearly show if the heart suffered from something (like high troponin rates). I think that this test should be performed at least to reassure patients like us to rule out real heart problems!
Update.
Once I figured out how to stop my reflux heart palpitations have stopped :)
Why do palpitations occur very simple!! it is inflammation on the Vagus nerve. Hence when lying on your right side it irritates it causing a interference with your nerve signal.
If you have Acid Reflux it is mostly likely caused by LOW ACID this is the case for 90% of people but they wont tell you this because antacids make dollars.
Simple test drink 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinger after each meal, did it stop your acid reflux? bet it did.
This is not the cure for Acid Reflux but a start, most people believe it is caused by to much acid TOTAL opposite.
Good Luck!
same thing here when lying on my right side.
This only ever started when getting acid reflux, and now I have linked it to the following and would advise all you to do these tests your self.
1. Acidic Body meaning 5.5ph or lower in the morning when checking urine.
2. Adrenal fatigue
3. Low thyroid function (Check using temperature in morning method)
4. Lacking base minerals (most important and can stop heart palpitations Magnesium Citrate)
5. High Uric acid in the body - Linked to 1. and 2. if so kidney cleanse and liver cleanse to remove stones otherwise Uric acid will stay high. (Hulda Clark cleanse is a good start)
Hope this helps you in some way, I understand Doctors cant help you sometimes you need to take things in your own hands.
I have an underactive thyroid and get palpitations anyway but have now started having them when I lie on my right side. Mine are uncomfortable to the point that, if I don't get up and walk about, they start to hurt. I have found this very distressing and am due to see my gp in a couple of days.
Hi I am a 30yr old female, I have DCM & have also suffered with very frequent palpatations for the last 2 years, I experienced the same thing when I lay on my side, so I raised the issue with my cardiologist, he said that although he has no explanation, it is common that laying on the right side seems to aggrivate the situation!?
My only advice is, don't lay on your right side! ;-)
I am 25, 5'10 160 pound male, I too get frequent heart palpitations when I lie on my right side. I have gone through tests and seen a specialist that said I was fine, but I don't think thats fine. I would like to see an answer to your question.
