I watched a documentary last night which to say the very least, shocked me. It was how far genetic engineering has come in the last decade. For example, have you heart of spider goats? yes it does sound odd. The genes for producing the protein to make silk in spiders has been found and spliced into goats. The milk produced by the goats contains lots of the protein so the silk can be produced in large quantities. Why? well the silk is the strongest thing in nature or made by humans. It can be used to repair tendons for example. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. You can use online software and create your own dna. You simply mix the proteins you need using the software and look at the results, then you can order the proteins which will be shipped to you. They believe with so many people involved, cures for many things will be popping up. I'm a bit concerned about people creating killer viruses though. There are companies around the world now genetically modifying yeast to produce diesel which works in vehicles. It made me realise that the possibilities are limited only by the imagination. According to this program we will see some amazing things inside the next decade. Maybe someone will design a biological machine which will eat plaque in arteries. Whoever develops that first will be VERY rich.

They got rich with statin medication, so imagine a tiny biological machine which removes plaque. How large is the world population? everyone would want to take a dose probably once a year to make sure their plumbing is clean. Even at $1 per dose, that's a LOT of money.

Well Ed you just a “bit concerned”..:)good for your well being!…We have a reason a lot to be concerned about. Many things we have no idea about, what they do behind the seen. Hope you don’t think they will tell the public all? Or right away? And I don’t think an individual will be rich by developing any kind of biological machine!:)
