HEART DISEASE

I WAS SEEN BY MY DR APPROX TWO WEEKS AGO HE HAS SCHEDULED A THALLIUM STRESS TEST WHAT IS HE LOOKING FOR, I DO HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND I AM ON THREE DIFFERENT KINDS OF MEDICATIONS TO CONTROL IT I DID HAVE A FEW CHEST PAINS APPROX TWO WEEKS AGO AND I DO TAKE GIMFIBROZIL FOR HIGH CHOLESTRAL I DO HAVE A FAMILY HISTORY OF HEART DISEASE MY DAD HAD A TRIPLE BYPASS AT THE AGE OF 59 MY MOTHER PASSED AWAY DUE TO COMPLICATIONS OF A MITRAL VALVE REPLACEMENT. I AM ONLY 40 YEARS OLD HOW WORRIED SHOULD I BE ABOUT THIS? PLEASE ANSWER AS SOON AS POSSABLE BECAUSE MY TEST IS TOMMORROW MORNING AT 900AM

Hi! I know its quire late to reply to you question. But I would say if you have such kind of problems then do not go to many health consultants just get the checkups done and find out the specialist near about you. Hope all going to be fine!

I don't think I'd worry about anything - certainly won't help anything, especially your blood pressure.  I'd relax, and see what happens with the stress test.  I think the thallium stress test is a good, pretty reliable, non-invasive test to determine whether or not you have a problem.  Let us know what the results are - good luck!
