From what I understand, first degree heart block is a delayed transmission, without missed beats, of an impulse from the atria to the ventricles because of an impairment of the conduction (electrical) system and is generally benign. ie usually doesn't progress to complete block as is sometimes the case in 2nd block. What did your doctor say about the type II episodes?
If you are concerned about the palpitations and dizziness, go back to your doctor and ask questions until you are comfortable. Worrying about things never helps anything.
I recently had a pacemaker implantation for a Mobitz II AV block in which there are missed beats. I feel great and symptoms are gone and I'm back to my usual routine.
Hi, May be unrelated but my Mom had uncontrolled arrhythmia with many things tried to control it. Finally an av node ablation was done and a pacemaker implanted. This actually stopped the signals from the av node - now the pacemaker sends the signals.
Perhaps a pacemaker would help when the av node "acts up" ?
