Heart Desease

I have diabetes and have had two double by-pass surgeries since 2000.  July 2009 I had a Heart Cath done.  I was told I have one arterie functioning properly, My left arterie is 55% blocked and the rest of my arteries are completly blocked.  The Doctor said he tried to put a stent in my left arterie but my arterie is to narrow.  Don't they make smaller stents and do you have any advice for me.  Thank You

Some arteries are just too thin to take a stent. Did he not just balloon it? to squash the plaque into the artery wall. I believe around 4 out of 10 form blockages again, but this still leaves a greater than 50% chance it will stay open. A balloon is used to squeeze the stent into position and before the use of stents (around 1977), ballooning alone was used.
