my husband was diagnosed with high blood pressure today, actually extremly high blood pressure and the dr put him on medication, what worries me is his blood pressure being so high and his heart rate being so low, is that not something to worry about or is it normal?

BP and heart rate are two seperate things. A Hypertension Specialist explained that to me. I too was surprised. I had BP of 210/160 and 255/130 at times and my heart rate was 54 bpm as it always was when I had normal  BP.

The only difference I felt was my heart beating a lot stronger and harder, but my heart rate was not effected.
