High blood pressure

My sugar, Cholestrol, Creatinine, Thyroid, Vitamin B levels are normal. Vitamin levels are high.

I am vegeterian. I do not take eggs also. I take two cups of milk, two cups of yoghurt a day. I walk for 20-30 mts 3 days a week.

I normally take Osteocare tablet -1, Vitamin B supplement -1, Flaxseed oil capsule - 1 a day.

My blood pressure is 140/100.

What could be the reason ?

Do I need to consult cardiologist ?

Regards

You should consult a doctor about your BP as it is classified as being high which is 140/90. The long term impact could be artery damage as well as damage to other organs such as your kidneys and eyes. Vienna is correct, it could just be genetic, in any case there are many medical options to bring your number down very quickly. Also, take a look at the DASH diet as created by the NIH to combat high blood pressure. Below is a link;

http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/public/heart/hbp/dash/new_dash.pdf

This diet is designed to balance you diet and eliminate excess sodium, it's worth looking at.

hope this helps,

Jon

You might have a family history. But do not worry much only is your second number is high a little. Keep watching it regularly, put the numbers down and yes some point you should again see a doctor, but maybe not a cardiologist but your family doctor. I don’t know how that is working in your country. If same like here, the family doctor will advice what to do.
