What is the probability that I have, after two Brain Infarts, that the brain drain syst will finally clog and either a drain tube is introduced from the brain to the bladder or if only 1/4 of the brain is dead, the probability of encefilitirs is higher since an operation to install the drain tube can cause another brain infart, brain hemorrhage, coma or death. And if not done, it will cause encephalitis. Please advice since my last one happened in 2007.

if you look into low Glycemic Index foods, that can also help
but eating low carb does best of all for diabetes
doctors might not mention those things

Hi. Sorry to say, but probably the time that a person is most likely to have a stroke is in the weeks/months after you've already had one. All the conditions were ripe for the first one and the conditions probably remain the same.
Have you also checked your peripheral vision? That can affect your walking ability (like bumping into things) and you might not realize that it is lessened now.
My own belief is that to avoid another stroke (a 'secondary' stroke), a person should immediately go into weight-loss mode. Then the blood's cholesterol and inflammation and possibly other things get healthier, and do so quickly.
> i have had a posterior circulation infart what is that?
because of a blockage in an artery in the back of your head (the cerebral artery), a portion of your brain couldn't get enough oxygen and died. That's an "infarct" or also called an "infarction". It's possible that you've had many tiny strokes that didn't produce a big effect, yet. But you can do a lot with diet and exercise to prevent a really bad stroke in your future. Especially avoid sweets, because triglycerides are a big risk factor for stroke that you can change - probably third after smoking and high blood pressure. A lot is up to you.
Fish oil can help, but you'd first want to be sure that your stroke was due to a blockage and not to internal bleeding.
By the way, there must be one or more stroke support groups here also where they can give you more detail. Good luck.
i have been told that i have had a posterior circulation infart what is that? i had back in october vertigo and due tothat because t went on for nearly a month they suggested the above i was sent for an mri scan to which they have lost the results and so the stroke dr is now trying to find out what was on them. will i have another stroke as i hadn't realised i had the first one.
An infarct is usually a blood clot that interrupts the flow of blood. There are medications that sometimes can dissolve the clots, other than that it may require a surgical operation. You may want to post the question to the expert forum. Scroll down and to the left for the link.
