Numbness in the palms

Numbness.
Occasionally,  I had slight numbness in the palms of my hands that did not  bother me at all. However, after starting doing my pushups,  I feel strong sensation of numbness in the morning or during a sleep. At first, I thought that maybe it is the position of my hands that caused me this complication, so I tried to put soft rubber under my palms; then I bought special bars for the  pushups, which I found even more uncomfortable than the rubber because the bar of this tool presses on the certain spot of the palm and not on the  whole surface. Do I have to stop doing this activity, or this is a minor problem that should  not be taken in consideration?

I am a 45 year old male. I don’t think that I have any major health problems and recently I did my medical test which did not show any problem either.
Good luck to everybody.
Thanks.
S.

it will likely get worse. How about doing dumbbell floor presses instead?

It could be a problem in the wrists (similar to carpal tunnel syndrome) or even further up in the elbows or neck. Nerve inflammation can cause pain, tingling and numbness in areas distal to the actual injured area.
