hi, my father 56 YO and had 99% blockage of blood and got attack about 10 years ago after that his heart become enlarged left atrium ejection fraction is 20% LVIDs 64 LVIDd 74 LVPWd10 IVSd 11, as par his dr there is no way for recovery kindly suggest me what should we do to safe our father's life we are very upset. what is his heart condition and how he can get back to life. Thanks
Can not answer what you doctors haven't. But reading a low atrium EF I will say to my simple understanding a poorly functioning atirum by itself isn't life threatening. The left ventricle does the pumping and it will pump even if the atrium is in total atrial fibrillation, that is not pumping.
